My name is Christine Freeman. I am a qualified funeral celebrant based in the Liversedge area of West Yorkshire. I trained with Civil Ceremonies Ltd and hold a Diploma in Funeral Celebrancy (QCF). I recently retired as a Detective with West Yorkshire Police, having served for thirty years. I am a trained counsellor specialising in the understanding of grief and the grieving process.
I have three grown up children and have recently become a very proud grandmother.
My Police career prepared me well for this new chapter in my life, which is dedicated to providing a meaningful funeral ceremony, capturing the essence of the person who has died and portraying the feelings of those who knew and loved them.
I chose to specialise as an Independent Funeral Celebrant as I consider that this service is one which has the greatest flexibility and is designed to truly reflect your loved ones life, whatever their age, circumstances, spiritual beliefs or background.
It may be the case that a totally religious funeral service is not appropriate for your loved one, yet one strictly without religion, such as a Humanist service may be equally unsuitable, especially if you would like to include a favourite hymn or prayer. This is where the Independent Funeral Service, should be considered. It provides a perfectly balanced service, which reflects the life of the person who has died, whether they would want a prayer or not.
I will work closely with you, sensitively talking through your options and choices, creating for you, a unique ceremony, in tribute to a unique life.
